COIN WISHING TREES

Dating back to around the 1700's people believed that a person suffering from an illness could hammer a coin into a the tree trunk and then the tree would take the illness away, but if someone removed the coin, they themselves would become ill.
Whether some folks still believe this legend, or they do it simply because it’s fun is still a mystery, but the fact is this bizarre habit has spawned some pretty unbelievable sights that apparently unique to the UK.

First of all, this is not one of those tricky posts.

I am writing this to you from my hospital bed.󾌮 How do you write the "Cliff almost went tets up" post? Like that I guess. My kidneys failed which left me unable to really walk or breathe. Weird that they would have such far reaching power, but they do and I have a healthy respect.

We live a golden age, a mix of alchemy and Star Trek, where they can take someone in my condition and, by standing on the shoulders of giants, use the magic of the body, medicine and what amounts to steampunk machinery and set me right.

Today I can walk and breathe again. Not quite ready for that 10k but I honestly have more hope for that now than I did. Going in for the 3rd day of dialysis today. My hospital stay has been remarkably pleasant considering how this all sounds. Dialysis is effortless, just time. The only issue is installing an ironman/like device in your chest to connect to your heart when they plug you into the dialysis machine. I know that sounds horrific but the worst part was laying on the metal table to get the implant. The procedure itself was easy and local anesthesia. The hospital I am at, Foothill Presbyterian in Glendora deserves a huge shout out. It is truly world class in every way.

The road going forward is still unknown. They don't know the cause or if it is permanent or temporary. It's a little baffling. But we'll take it a day at a time and for now it's life plus dialysis. Not sure how this will all fare for work. 󾍀

Anyway thank you for all your love and friendship over the years, I love you all and appreciate you deeply.
